About

Who We Are

Garenin Gallery is a small family gallery and gift shop run by Joseph Kirkman ARPS. His Grandfather, Callum Macdonald, grew up just down the road in the local community of Knock, Carloway. Along with his two brothers Joe spent much of his childhood visiting the Isle of Lewis and as such, fell in love with the Island, it's landscape and it's people.

Now age 23, he has built a photo and art gallery located next-door to the stunning Gearrannan Blackhouse Village on the west coast of the island.

What We Do

We are an art gallery and giftshop that specialises in Scottish artists and makers. We sell a variety of items from handmade gifts created by island locals to homeware and large prints from well-known Scottish artists.

Our resident photographer, Joseph Kirkman ARPS, started this journey when nearing completion of his photography degree with Bath Spa University. During which he decided that he wanted to make a living as a professional landscape photographer & return to the islands as he has done every year from the age of 7. Joe wanted to create unique abstract prints of the Hebrides' constantly changing landscape and beauty.
